Khaki is a lovely way to give a pale room a little more depth while keeping the palette natural and understated.

On a cream, oatmeal or stone sofa, drape the throw loosely over one arm or corner and pair it with cushions in warm neutrals, caramel, olive, black or softly patterned fabrics.

For a more tonal look, combine it with natural linens, bouclé, warm timber and ceramics. On a bed, fold it across the lower third or let it fall slightly off-centre for a softer, less formal finish.
