STYLING NOTES

How to style a throw

Throws look best when they feel relaxed rather than overly arranged. On a sofa, fold loosely lengthways and allow the throw to fall naturally over an arm or corner rather than spreading it perfectly across the back. If you’re styling it alongside cushions, choose either a similar tonal shade for a calm layered look or pick up one colour from the cushions to connect the arrangement. On a bed, fold a throw across the lower third or drape it slightly off-centre for a softer, less formal finish.

A simple styling rule

When a room feels as though it is missing something, add texture before adding more colour. A tactile throw can give a neutral scheme depth and warmth without disturbing the sense of calm.
