A stag standing among fir trees, cut as one tall silhouette in antique gold metal on a slender base. The trees rise above him, which gives the piece its height and its stillness, and the cut metal catches light differently as you move past it.

It suits the places a horizontal piece cannot reach: a narrow shelf, a hall table against a wall, the sill of a window where it reads as a silhouette against the last of the afternoon light. It needs nothing beside it beyond a candle to help it shine.
